Thanks Bill for the great info on the C.C.C. They did great work and it was a life saver to many young men and their families after the stock market of 1929. (Before my time). My husband and I say some of their great work in various places around the states east of the Mississippi River. One place was a fairgrounds where they young men had carved signs to be placed in front of each building that would indicate what was on displays in the building. Their work was valued so much that after each fair the signs would be uprooted (they were on posts) and put into storage to protect them from the weather and from vandals. I wish I could remember where the fairgrounds was. I'd ask my husband but he is sleeping. Pat of NYS
