    1. [Tri-Counties] Johnston WALT death record lookup 1930 to 1950
    2. Virginia Jones
    3. Would anyone have suggestions on how and where I might find a record of death or burial for Johnston (Johnson) WALT living in 1930 in the 2nd Ward of the Borough of Sayre, Bradford County, PA? Would Bradford County Courthouse have such records? Are there any indexed death records for 1930 to 1950 that someone could direct me to or tell me where to find, for Bradford County? Johnston Walt was living, at age 80 years, at the time of the 1930 census of Sayre. He would have died probably before 1950, as I do not think that he lived to be 100. The PA Dept of Vital Statistics requires a rather expensive $28 for a search of death certificates for a period of 2 to 10 years and an additional $25 for additional 10 year search. Therefore a 20 years search from 1930 would cost nearly $60 with copy, and I cannot do that just now. If you can provide a date of death to them, it is only $3.00 for a copy of the certificate. I need help, please! Johnston Walt's burial does not seem to be among any of the transcriptions available online at the Bradford County Gen Web page. I have searched. Some of his children are at Tioga Point but he is not there. Some reference for identification : Johnston Walt was born August 1850 in Perry County, PA and he was married to Kate Foster. Kate Foster Walt died between 1900 and 1910 in Sayre. Johnston Walt's given name is sometime spelled as "Johnson" and he was picked up in one earlier Sayre census as "John". I believe that Johnston Walt would have still be living in Sayre at time of his death, and he may be buried in a cemetery in Sayre. In 1930, he was living with his son Fred E. Walt, in Sayre. Fred Walt died in 1940. Johnston Walt's daughter Jennie Walt was married to Dewitt Blackman and they also lived in Sayre. Johnston Walt was Protestant to the best of my knowledge. There would only be one "Johnston/Johnson WALT" in this area, particularly at that time period. If anyone has a suggestion for the most expedient places to look for this date of death or if some kind person has any extant lists of cemeteries at Sayre who is willing to do a lookup, please email me. Any help is appreciated.
