Hi Everyone, Thank you to everyone who responded to my question. I had heard of the defination of fallow as "fallow land", land which had not been used or had been left without crops for the year, and it really didn't seem to work in the context that it was being used in this diary. The more I thought about it, and the more of you that gave me that defination, it seemed more apt to be the correct defination. I think that in this instance it was more likely land that had not been cleared yet, which someone suggested in their e-mail, but it is still a guess on my part.
