    3. Right, the middle name(s), if any, could also honor non-ancestors: people the parents admire. I've also seen a brother-in-law's last name given as a middle name. ----- Original Message ----- From: "W. 3. Its not just a 1700's and 1800's thing. There are many people today walking around with 3, 4 and in one case I am aware of 5 names. Just last year, my last nephew born in October received four names. This was to appease the grandparents on both sides and prevent a family "rift". The parents were simply trying to appease all and still keep the name THEY wanted. And the names that he has, are not family names. They are Biblical names. So trying to maintain peace amongst the relatives may have been and still is another reason. -----Original Message----- From: Tim Nenno [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, July 27, 2002 6:37 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Tri-Counties] names Right, the middle name(s), if any, could also honor non-ancestors: people the parents admire.
