What I know about Evans is my GG-grandmother was Elizabeth Evans who married John Roberts. I know that they were in Wilkes-Barre Pa around the turn of the century as my G-grandfather was born in 1900 in Wilkes-Barre. I do know that his family owned the Pomeroy's building and later sold it to them. They were also strict Catholics. I have heard a story that my g-grandfather's brother john heard about one of the relatives dying but had to claim residency in Canada before he could receive the large inheritance. My G-grandfather, Charles J. Roberts, moved to Sayre, Pa in 1915; my G-grandmother, Pauline Lucy McNeal, moved to Sayre in 1917. The two married and Charles was disowned from his family because she was protestant and not catholic. Oh and a correction, this is on my Father's side. He is a little chart I made to show the relationships: John Roberts m. Elizabeth Evans Charles J. Roberts m. Pauline Lucy McNeal Charles F. Roberts m. Beatrice Talada Michael D. Roberts m. Lisa Quattrini Michael D.
