Bill, I don't know where Buriel Permits would be in Chemung Co. In Tioga Co. NY the Town of Barton has their permits in the Town Clerk's office. I was looking through them for the death date of my grandmother in early 1900's. Then I could get her death certificate. But Chemung Co. is different on a lot of things. If you would tell us whom you found and where then maybe one of us here in the county could help you.
