Pat and Edna, I recently visited Mitchell's Corners Cemetery on my annual pilgrimage to Chemung County. The Cemetery is on Thayer Road, about 100 yards from the intersection with Wyncoop Creek Road. The town (or some kind soul) has made some recent improvements to the cemetery by installing a nice flag pole and steps made of railroad ties and rebar spikes. Before this recent installation, accessing the cemetery required the visitor to be kissing cousin to a mountain goat. When I visited at the end of July, however, the cemetery was slightly overgrown - but not seriously. I found my ancestor's headstone (Judieth Joslin Carnrike - am curious who replaced her stone in the 1960's) and am truly curious as to who Admiral Wickham was. His grave is the first you encounter at the top of the steps. Anyone have a clue? Joyce Raleigh, NC
