In the very early years of Bradford County, James Dewey Sr moved with his family to the South Creek-Ridgebury area. About 1818, he became very involved with the Baptist Church in Wellsburg,NY. His second wife (her second marriage also) was Patience VanCamp. Almost all of his family is buried in the churchyard just to the left of the church under the very large trees. Even his son James Jr.. and his wife Mehetible are buried there. I cannot find his burial place anywhere (he died in 1829), and almost assume that perhaps when they rebuilt an enlarged church a number of years ago, perhaps his grave became unmarked. Are there any other records that are available that would tell me if perhaps they are buried in the church yard other than the list posted? His first wife was Peninah, and I almost think she may also be buried there as well.
