I loved the lilacs in the spring in PA, OH, and NY when I lived in those places. Here in southern NM, they don't grow. But we went to Taos a couple of weekends ago, and there were hedges of lilacs in bloom and smelling wonderful. That's at 7000 feet and north of here--just south of the Colorado border. Fran Clark
