I received so many replies to my question about the lumber museum that I"m sending this thanks via the list. Thanks thanks thanks ! I just wrote them asking for info about the timber industry in that area...my family was heavily involved with timber and Phelps Dodge. Because my gr gr uncle, Daniel Dickinson went to Buenos Aires in 1839 for business, I'm pretty interested in timber in Tioga County---its appearing he was down there for Dodge and company and I'm trying to figure out if it was timber or mining that they were negotiating. I have quite a bit of info from Daniel's diary and family letters to him during that time period. Thanks everyone...I just got one step further on this family line.
