Carolyn Pierce's thought on wringer washers reminds me of my "job". During WW2 Soap was hard to get. We had to use Ivory bar soap to do the washing. My job was to carve animals or anything I wanted out of the soap. The shavings and my "art" broken up also ended up in the washer.
