I had finally found some information on My Stephen Cease and his wife Alzadia Woodard (her sister was Lydia who married a Eli McConnell). I requested the widow pension record of thier daughter Mary Cease Newell. When questioned, She said that her parents were Stephen Cease and Alzadia Woodard and she was born in 1846. When she was about 4, her parents seperated and a few years later divorced. She was sent to live with her mothers sister Lydia McConnell and her brother Daniel Cease was bonded out to a Mr. Purshal or Parshall. Do you know if any divorce records would exist around 1850 to 1858? I give 1858 because Alzadia remarried then to Henry Buck. Does any one know if these records still exist and where I would write to find them? She said that she was in Sullivan, Tioga COunty until the age of 19 so I would think her mother would have gotten it there.
