It might be a long shot but you could look for a Jean (Jane, Janet, etc.) _______ born Scotland in some of the other coal mining towns in the region in the 1880 census. You could check Barclay but also check Morris Run, Fallbrook, and Blossburg in Tioga County. It shouldn't take you long to go through Fallbrook and Morris Run but Blossburg will be quite large. Also, if her other two children were living with her the names should show up quite easily. Since the children were born before 1870 they would not show up on the 1880 soundex so you would have to do an actual search of those areas. Most often immigrants from the British Isles who were in the coal mining towns stayed in that profession and she perhaps married another coal miner. If her mother in law and son were in Liberty in 1880 there is a chance she was still in the area, unless she also died by 1880. Some of my Harvey ancestors who resided at Barclay also went to Utah and were involved in mining there (not coal) so perhaps there was some type of exodus to that area. You could check with the Bradford County Historical Society. Many of the newspapers have had birth, marriage, and death information extracted and those are on index cards. Her marriage, if it made it into the newspapers, would have been in a Towanda or Canton newspaper. There would be no real estate transfers in Barclay with her name since the coal company owned most of the real estate. I haven't looked on my atlas to see where Frugality, Pennsylvania is. Was it a coal town? You might want to also look for her there. J.
