There is a Joseph R. Himes, born 1839, died 1910 who is buried in the Wildwood Cemetery in Brockway, PA. This is my husband, s ggrandfather. We had contacted all his living relatives that we know and no one can find in which regiment he served. He married Elizabeth Miller and while visiting there a few weeks ago, there was an American Flag flying and also his tombstone designates that he was a veteran of this war. There was an obit of him in the Brockwayville newspaper in 1910. Please if anyone has any information on him, I would appreciate you letting me know. Eight cemetery lots were bought by a H. R. Himes and turned over to Joseph Himes in 1910. We are assuming that this was his father. Only Joseph and his wife are buried there. Would be grateful for any info on this family as we are at a dead-end. We just didn't have enough time to stay searching as we live in FL and after a week there going to all the Historical societies that we could find, we had to leave. Pat in FL
