I am the secretary for a cemetery association in New York. The Laws here vary depending on whether you are referring to a municipal or town cemetery, private cemetery, an incorporated cemetery or a cemetery association. I do however have a copy of the Not-for-profit Corporation Laws which govern incorporated cemeteries as ours is. I also have information that we receive from the Divison of Cemeteries (which is also on the internet under NYS Department of State). I would have to know specific questions to know whether I am able to answer them or not. Any others I could forward onto the Buffalo Office of the Division of Cemeteries which governs our area.
