The Bradford County Historical Society resumes Saturday hours for genealogical research on April 10th. J. Kelsey Jones
I am looking for any information on Oakley Lewis (lived early to late 1800's) of LeRoy, Bradford County, PA. Oakley & Anne (Bloom) Lewis had various children, three of whom were Harrison, George, and E. Lloyd, the owners of a lumber business, hotel, and general store in LeRoy, PA. I know almost nothing about who the father of Oakley was, or anyone before that. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Matt Carl, President LeRoy Heritage Museum
Charlotte and list: Sorry for the slip - Elijah B. Owen's 3rd wife was Maria (Tracy) (Fellows) (Buck) Owen. She was the daughter of Starks and Esther (Gilbert) Tracy of Oswego Co., NY. Before Maria married Elijah Owen, she married Augustin(s) Fellows of Oswego Co., NY, and Nelson Buck. Cornelia
Looking for relocation and death information for Elijah B. Owen and death information for his 2nd wife, Sarah (BUNDY) Owen. Elijah B. Owen was the son of Eleazer and Margaret (BUCK) Owen of Big Flats, Chemung Co., NY. He was related to the BUCK families of Bradford Co., PA. Elijah's mother, Margaret BUCK, was the daughter of Elijah and Margaret (FOSTER) Buck of Chemung Co., NY. In the 1870 US census, Elijah B. and Sarah (Bundy) Owen were living in Elmira, NY. By 1877 Elijah had relocated to Illinois and in May, 1877, in Livingston Co., IL, married Maria (Tracy) (Fellows) Buck, widow of Nelson Buck, his cousin. (Elijah's mother Margaret BUCK was the sister of Nelson's father, Aholiab BUCK. Aholiab Buck had lived in Chemung Co. before moving to Metz, Cayuga Co., NY, and then to Illinois.) In the 1880 US census, Elijah B. Owen is living with his 3rd wife, Maria, in Pontiac, Livingston Co., IL. A county history, "The Biographical Record of Livingston and Woodford Counties, Illinois," published in 1900, has extensive biographies of Nelson Buck and Maria Owen. Maria (Trask) (Fellows) (Buck) Owen was living in Pontiac at the time the bio was written. No mention is made as to whether Elijah B. Owen was also living or deceased. Can anyone shed light on any of the following: 1) the probable death of Sarah (Bundy) Owen, Elijah's 2nd wife, apparently between 1870-1877. Did she die in Chemung Co., NY, or IL? 2) the relocation of Elijah B. Owen to Illinois between 1870 and 1877 - why? 3) when and where Elijah B. Owen died Amazingly, the Livingston Co., IL, history contains a photo of Elijah B. Owen. He is clearly the same Elijah B. Owen whose photo I have in our family album Any information appreciated! Cornelia Andrus, great great grandniece of Sarah Bundy

Looking for any information on Abraham plank, son John, both lived and died in Pennsylvania.
Hi Mike, Sorry to have to contact you this way. I don't have your email address. Thanks for the newspapers you sent. I'll be glad to use the articles on site. Joyce M. Tice
I took a look at the bill and concur with previous messages. Most commercial databases are there by the grace of public records, church records, DAR records, Civil War group records, family bible records, your records, personal recollection, etc. This seems to be an unfair law. Does anyone have an argument to counter that? I am curious. Kathi

I for one have already written my congressman to vote no if this bill reaches the floor. The ramifications are so widespread. It will effect us in many more ways than just genealogy research. I urge everyone to write their Congressional representative and express their opinions.
I got this from another list. I hope I'm not sending something someone else already sent. Could someone help me with a church, birth or other lookup for the above person or surname. My dilemma is that supposedly he was born in PA but I have no idea where. Other Brigance members were supposedly born around 1740 in PA as well. At that time, there were only 4 counties: Lancaster, Chester, Philadelphia and Bucks. I have searched in Philadelphia and Lancaster but I wonder when the counties split if the information went with another county outside of the Philadelphia area. I am sending this email to all of the counties in Pennsylvania, except those mentioned above, in case anyone can help. Thanks!!!!! Teri Tighe Southern New Jersey
Hi, My Aunt Wilhelmina Gerard, from Elmira, NY had a radio program in the 1940's and 1950's. Broadcast local, Saturday mornings. The topic was "birding." Does anyone have any listing of the stations in that time? You may email me..sda4nc@aol.com Thank you, Sharon Moffe D'Andrea
