Ann, Dickson City is in Lackawanna County. It is a "suburb" immediately North of the Scranton city limits, about 60 miles SW of Towanda. Dick McCracken Towanda, PA -- Plan Your Work... Work Your Plan...

Is Dickson City part of Bradford Co. ? If so can anyone tell me what schools (elementary and high school) were in existence in the 1920s and 1930s ? I am researching the Thomas A. Scott family that moved from Towanda in the 1920s to Dickson City. The wifes name was Agnes Kirwin Scott an the children were Margaret, Mary Rose, Agnes(Nan) and an adopted son Paul G. .Help...Ann.

Listers, Is there anyone on the list who can look up a Capt. George Frasier who is said to have been buried in the Woodlawn cemetery. He was supposedly in the war of 1812 so it could be the Woodlawn National Cemetery. Thank you Harold Hooper

Hi Everyone, My neighbor used to work on the South Creek road crew and over the years has also opened graves. While visiting this evening we got talking about reading the grave markers. He thought he would test my knowledge of the local cemeteries. I did just fine for awhile then he was naming locations I was unaware of and have not seen on Joyce's site. This gold mine of cemetery info has agreed to drive around with me and show me where these long lost cemeteries are. They are in South Creek, Wells, Columbia, and Ridgebury townships and one in Ashland. Can't wait for things to dry out so we can get at it. Lynn Tinsley
These books that I have are NOT genealogy books. They are books that had been OWNED at one time by the people I listed. If you're STILL interested let me know. It is a beautiful map. I tried to print it, intending to print it in several pages and glue it together but only the one corner printed twice and then 3 empty pages. Does anyone know how to print the map, or is there some lock to prevent it being printed? Carlton Wheeler
What a wonderful map, Charmaine! Thanks so much for sharing the website. Even though it downloads slowly it is well worth the wait. Thanks to the contributions of those on the list and Joyce's great website I have gained a wealth of knowledge about Pennsylvania, Tioga Co., more specifically. Chemung Co. is next on my learning agenda so whenever there is a need for transcribing/typing, Joyce, please call on me with instructions. I'll be glad to help! My great-aunt Stella B. Pierce, my grandfather Ralph E. Pierce, and my father, M. Lyman Pierce, all born on Farmington Hill, and my grandmother Ruth Northrop of Westfield, Tioga Co. would enjoy this website and list if they were alive today! They would be so pleased to know that this information is being carried forward. Carolyn Pierce Researching BOWMAN, BRIGHTMAN, COLEGROVE, DOTY, GEE, JOSEPH, McCALLUM, NORTHROP, PIERCE, PLACE, WEBSTER
