Hi; Will someone let me know when there is someone on duty at the office of the Maple Grove Cemetary in Horseheads, NY. We plan to visit the area in September. Thanks; Bill Stiles, Charlotte, NC billstiles@msn.com
Hi All, We are lucky people indeed. A year ago I posted a plea for a listing of the Darling Cemetery of Orwell. In February Kathy MANCHESTER Jones indicated she would like to do it. Later Reva Wagner also indicated she'd like to do it and since I had lost touch with Kathy I said fine. Anyway both of the people did it and both did a terrific job and both files hit my mailbox within two day of each other in mid June. I have formatted and posted both of them to the site, and you can reach them from the Orwell Township page which you will find on the Tri-County Township Index of <A HREF=" http://www.rootsweb.com/~srgp/jmtindex.htm ">Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. Hi All, Last week when I posted a question concerning cleaning old tombstones, I didn't want to tie up the list with a big discussion. I am grateful that there wasn't one. I had been looking for a website that I couldn't bring up. I finally got it. I have had e-mail from several people who are interested and have asked me to post information. I find the following to be interesting and informative. Try it. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~hornbeck/cemetery.htm Good luck. Lorraine Foltz

Hi All, I have just uploaded the Old Cemetery by Pine Creek of Gaines Township to the site. I have listed it as Brookside Cemetery on the township page as that is the name I had. If anyone knows for sure that Old Cemetery by Pine Creek is NOT the same as Brookside, please notify me. You can reach this from the Gaines Township Page of <A HREF=" http://www.rootsweb.com/~srgp/jmtindex.htm ">Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. Tice</A> Joyce M. Tice
Hooray, Hooray. At long last we have a 1999 Cemetery Listing for Alba Cemetery. I can't think of a cemetery that has had more requests and now, thanks to Virginia and Deborah, we have it. You can reach the new listing form the Canton Township page of <A HREF=" http://www.rootsweb.com/~srgp/jmtindex.htm ">Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. Tice</A> Joyce M. Tice
Hi All Friends and Guests of <A HREF=" http://www.rootsweb.com/~srgp/jmtindex.htm ">Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. Tice</A> Finally, the big moment has arrived when I can announce that ALL 175 pages of the Veterans of Bradford County Burials database is on the site. This is a massive reference and once again, I want to thank Dick McCracken for compiling it and for making it available to us. You can reach it from Box 12C of the Online Research Library of the site. The main page of the site has undergone a minor face lift in honor of the site's fourth birthday. AND - another magic moment of the day - my car dealer called to say that my little PT Cruiser is finally going into production and should be off the assembly line by August 28 and them will take another couple of weeks to get here from Mexico. When I ordered it April 25 I knew it would take three to eight months, so this is no surprise. I am just hoping the old Neon can hold out another six months. That's all for now - back to some more catch up on backlogged submissions. Joyce M. Tice
Hi All, Most of you get messages from your ISP when a server is down as Rootsweb appears to be at this time. When I try to access it I get a clear message form AOL that the Rootsweb server is down. Apparently some of you do not get such clear messages from your ISPs when you try to access a server that is down as you have been sending me messages this morning. If the server is down, I can't get to it either and that is the case now. I have new pages to upload, but even that capacity is down. Just be patient, It will come back, but I have no information on when and I have no ability to change that. Joyce M. Tice <A HREF=" http://www.rootsweb.com/~srgp/jmtindex.htm ">Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. Tice</A>
Hi All, As you know I have been spending a lot of time in cemeteries of late looking for new flagholder examples and also taking photos for my next (secret) project which I will announce when I have it ready to go online. Along the way I find a few things that amuse me. I have updated the old Cemetery Joke page under the new name of Cemetery Humor with some examples of these. Perhaps some of you will get a chuckle also. You can reach it from the (slightly) modified front page of <A HREF=" http://www.rootsweb.com/~srgp/jmtindex.htm ">Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. Tice</A> For those of you baking and burning in the West, I have to tell you that this area had the coldest July on record and it was wonderful !!! It never got to 90 and rarely even to 80 and some mornings were well down in the 40s. The best July of my lifetime !! This wonderful August morning it was 51 here. Great sleeping weather for those of you blessed with the ability to sleep. I expect to spend the weekend at home updating web pages. (I know you'll all be glad to hear that) I have a canine house guest for the weekend, and unlike my own tiny dog, he is a bit large to haul around for long in my Neon, so I will have to stay put for once. Speaking of which, I have had a PT Cruiser on order since April 25 and my dealer tells me I am moving up this long long production list. Once that arrives I'll be able to haul around a whole herd of large dogs in this new model I recently heard described as a Sport Utility Hearse. The old Neon can't hold out much longer with me putting on 35,000 to 40,000 miles a year, so it has to go. Anyway, I hope to catch up on some email and some backlogged submissions from my many helpers. Joyce M. Hi List, Thanks to everyone who replied to my question about cleaning old tombstones. I appreciate your helpful suggestions. Lorraine Foltz
There are chapters on the early churches in both Evert's and Bradsby's Histories of Bradford County. Very few Baptist church records have survived and those that have are mostly membership lists. J. Hello Bradford Co. listers, My wife and I will be visiting Bradford Co. in a few weeks, and concentrating on cemeteries between Canton and going east to Leroy. We are looking for the grave of Jedediah Hunt. Although we have not found a grave location through Bradford Co. Veterans Affairs (With thanks to Dick McCracken), nor through the Tri-County site. We still plan to search. One of the cemeteries which we plan to investigate is East Canton. There is a Jared Hunt buried there, and some of the family think this grave may be of Jedediah, not Jared. Can anyone on this list give me an idea of how many cemeteries there are between Canton and Leroy, and also a reference point and directions to East Canton Cemetery? Thank you, Larry Hunt Pittsburgh, PA
Hello, genie gang. Anyone have any ideas how I can find out what churches were established in the Bradford County area ca. 1810-1860, specifically Baptist, but any other as well? I'm trying to find church records which might reveal names of a relative's siblings, born/married within that timeframe. I looked on Joyce's site, but maybe I missed it if there was something there. Thanks for any input. Beth C. St. Paul, MN
Does anyone know of, maybe, a paid researcher in the Bradford Co. area who might be willing to untake going to a Bradford Co. cemetery and taking photos of family gravestones? I have seen this service offered on other sites and would love to contact someone who does it in the Tri-County area. Would appreciate any help and information anyone might have! Thanks! Deart All, Classic mistake, concentrated on who to send it to and forgot to paste the message. Here it is: PASS THIS ON TO ANYONE FOR WHOM YOU HAVE AN E-MAIL ADDRESS. If you receive an email titled "Lets watch TV" - DO NOT OPEN IT. It will : erase everything on your hard drive. This information was announced yesterday: morning from IBM; AOL states that "KALI" is a very dangerous virus, much worse than "Melissa," and that there is NO remedy for it at this time. Some very sick individual has succeeded in using the reformat function from Norton Utilities causing it to completely erase all documents on the hard drive. It has been designed to work with Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer. It destroys Macintosh and IBM compatible computers. This is a new, very malicious virus and not many people know about it. Pass this warning along to EVERYONE in your address book and please share it with all your online friends ASAP so that this threat may be stopped. Forward this warning to everyone that might access the internet.
I believe that Abigail ROSE, b 6 May 1798 in NY was the sister of Elizabeth ROSE who married Justice Wood and Sarah ROSE who married Nicholas Watkins, who lived in Tiago Co PA. I've been told that she married Avery SMITH in Rutland PA and later moved to MO. These girls were sisters of my g-grandfather Joseph Bradley ROSE who moved to Mitchell Co, KS. I just recently found this information on another list, put in by Donna Degraw, but when I responded to her by e-mail, my message was returned. Does anyone have any info about Abigail and Avery and does anyone know where Donna Degraw lives or her current e-mail. I would really like to get in touch with her. I've heard that there is a way to find e-mail addresses, even if you only have their name. Can anyone help me with this. Appreciate any help or suggestions. Betty Gregory BGreg3116@aol.com Edmond, OK

Hi All, I have added a lot of new flagholders to existing pages, added new pages, and added a lot of history and many more flagholders to the whole group of organizations included under the heading Isolationist Organizations. These groups represent an interesting element in our history and they sure did leave a lot of flagholders behind. You can reach the Flagholder section from the main page of <A HREF=" http://www.rootsweb.com/~srgp/jmtindex.htm ">Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. Tice</A> That's all for tonight.
