Hi All, I have been uploading school souvenir booklets all morning, again. I am starting at the top of the list (oldest) and working down. I also went though the binder I keep here of SSBs sent in and otherwise accumulated, and added some to the listing that I did not previously have there. Once everything is pulled together it comes to 95 different School Souvenir books from 1895 to 1930 WOW !!! I know more will be coming in as people have expressed intentions of sending them I am really excited by the way this is coming together. I am CERTAIN this is the biggest collection of SSBs on the Internet. Actually it may be the only one. Thanks to all of you who have shared yours. Joyce M. Tice Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. Tice

Joyce and Bill, I would love to take on this project, if there is no one else to do it. Regards, Beck Sams Klansnic in Washington state A Photo Hound Subject: [PABRADFO] One Room School Houses Joyce, My grandfather, John Andrew Morrow (Andy), was the Superintendent of Schools in Bradford County for many years. Under his staff's direction, many of the old one-room school houses were closed as the county consolidated into larger high schools. I have inherited from him, about 2 dozen negatives of pictures of those schools. The negatives are an odd size in today's world, about 4 inches by 8 inches, or something like that. They look in excellent condition, but I have not had much luck in getting them turned into positive images. Each is in its own envelope marked with the name of the school. If you or someone in the group would like to take this project on and put them on the Bradford County web site for all to enjoy, I will give them to you. What do you think? Bill Benson
Hi All Friends and Guests of Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. Tice The attention to the School Souvenir booklets has brought in some additional examples including the oldest one we've collected yet. I have just uploaded the 1895-1896 Sabinsville booklet to the School Souvenir Booklet page right at the top as the oldest one. I have also added the School Booklet page as a direct link form the main page of the site at Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. To Dick and the Group, I will send the negatives to Dick (once he provides an address) for the Historical Society, and know he will do his best to get them copied and placed on the Web. Isn't the Internet great! Thanks to all for their responses. Bill Benson Son of Bradford County
Hi Bill, I just got a new scanner that has negative scanning capability. I would be glad to give it a try. It certainly would be a welcome contribution to Joyce's site. My name is Kevin Williams and I am a fairly new subscriber to this list. My brick wall is Edmund WILLIAMS born about 1818 in Monmouth, Wales. He came to the United States in about 1859 with his wife Margaret, born about 1818 in Pontypool, Monmouth, Wales and their 4 children Henry, William, Jacob and Elizabeth. They were coal miners and I think they lived in Antrim, Tioga County Pennsylvania. I did find William and his family in the Trinity church records, but I haven't been able to find Edmund or Margaret anywhere. William and Jacob moved to Missouri around 1900, but I think the rest of the family stayed in Pennsylvania. If anybody has any idea on where to look or has any information I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Hi All, I have added some more school souvenir booklets to the site. You can reach them from Box 8A of the Online Research Library of Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. Tice Two of them I have forgotten who sent in. If you sent in a photocopy of the 1902 Dorsett School or a photocopy of the 1908 Lake Wesauking School, let me know so I can add your name to the page. I am really pleased with what this collection has turned in to. At this point there are about 85 of these little booklets available to me in one form or another, all of which will be going online eventually (soon I hope). This could only have happened with the participation of so many of you. Thanks to all of you who have helped and who share my goals in developing this site and carrying on the history of our Tri-County predecessors and ancestors. Joyce M. Tice
The Wellsboro Cemetery Records as listed on the site by Joyce Tice contains several errors and omissions. Buried in the Wheeler plot along with John M. Horton , Harry D. Wheeler's father-in-law, are the following: Harry D. Wheeler b 20 June 1839, d 30 December 1912 Ruth Ellen Horton Wheeler, his first wife, b 2 November 1842 d 4 December 1882 Ida Butler Wheeler, his second wife several of Harry D. Wheeler's children I believe that the Harry D. Webster b 20 June 1839, d 30 December 1912 is Harry D. Wheeler listed above. The Wheeler plot is just inside the main gate to the cemetery, to the right, at the first turn. As the recorders got the stone of John M. Horton, I can't see how they missed the Wheelers as they are all there together. Les Freeman (great grand son of Harry D. Wheeler and Ruth Ellen Horton Wheeler)

Hi All Friends and Guests of Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. Tice Today's early morning additions to the site include the 1870 Rutland Township census and a couple more School souvenir booklets. I am going to try to keep plugging away on getting all the souvenir booklets I have online as it would be really nice to have JUST ONE THING finished. At least until I get some more in which I hope will happen. But that depends on all of you searching your grandparents' attics. The new census is available on the Rutland Township page of the site and the booklets can be reached from Box 7B of the Online Research Library. Joyce M. Tice

Hello List, I'd like to thank all of the people who helped me with my question about the Vought family in the Rome, PA area. I finally made it to the Rome cemetery and shot a lot of film of many relatives' final resting places. Apparently I did so just in time; I just accepted a job in Florida and so will be leaving the area. I'll miss the snow this winter, but I'm sure I'll survive ;) Many thanks especially to Joyce for her magnificent website conglomeration! Hats off to you, Joyce. That's all for today. I have a crick in my neck again after this day long web site maintenance marathon (me and Linda Cracraft - both) so I am going to quit and finish watching the movie I fell asleep in the middle of last night. Hi All, I have added the article about Queen Esther that Dick McCracken typed up from the August 20, 2000 issue of the Towanda Review. Jim Towner, publisher, gave permission to reprint it. You can reach the new article form the Women of the Tri-Counties section of the Online Research Library (Box 4A.) of Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. Tice It is entitled "Queen Esther - Indian Friend or Fiend." Many thanks to Jim and Dick and author, Guy Abell. Joyce M. Tice
