Hi Myrt, (copy to Tri-County Mail list) Thanks for notifying me, but there is not much you can do about it except what you are doing - keeping your virus protection up to date and not downloading any files you don't understand. The new viruses use email addresses of people that they get from other sources. they really are not necessarily from the address it says it is from. I even get them from myself. My address is on all 7500 of my site's pages and that is one of the sources they use. Others have reported this to me also. Just be VERY Very, cautious. The mail list itself does not spread infected files. I get my list mail in a separate account and none of the messages have attached files. It just can't happen. No files can be sent through the mail list filter. But, addresses of mail list subscribers can be confiscated and used as a phony sender address. I am sending this answer on to the mail list also, so I don't; have to repeat it. Thanks, Joyce M. Hi all, Last week someone was king enough to post a note saying there was a Doane/Eiklor Bible up for sale on e-bay. It turned out to be a great thrill for me. Eiklor is my family and I was able to win what turned out to be my Great-grandfather's brother's family Bible. Today I was browsing through e-bay -- hoping for lightning to strike twice :o) -- and there was the following bible up for sale. It is listed as the Hoyt McCracken Family Bible. Just thought I would pass it on. I have no stake or interest in the sale at all. Just thought I've seen that surname on this list and maybe someone will be as lucky as I was last week. Lisa Cordero

Thanks > Pat Raymond Pat, I do not know the layout of Smithfield at all. However, I know that my grandparents and my grandmother's siblings lived in Smithfield and attended a one room schoolhouse. This schoolhouse was Sunny Side. A school souvenir booklet for Sunny Side from 1906 appears on the Tri-County web-site. The booklet states that the school is in East Smithfield. I recently looked at the 1930 Census which listed my grandmother's brothers, Tom and Bill Donovan, who owned the family farm in 1930. At the bottom of the page it said "Ulster Road." My understanding is that the property where Sunny Side was located was eventually bought by them and incorporated into their farm. Unfortunately, I do not know much more about Sunny Side than this. Hope this helps. Does anybody else have information about Sunny Side? - Tom Weingart

Hi Everyone, There was a mistake in my last post. The school was on the corner of Ulster Road and the Bridle Path Road, not Bluebird Road. Sorry Pat Raymond
Hi Everyone, I have a letter from a lady wanting info about a one-room schoolhouse between Smithfield and Ulster, and who the teacher might have been in the late 1920's. I have come up with two possibilities. I'm going to give you the info that I have found, and if anyone can add to my information please let me know because I am going to write to this lady in the next couple of days. There was one on the corner of Bluebird Road and Ulster Road, but I have been unable to find out the name of this school. There is a good possibility that the teacher at this school was a Miss Thomas (source: Barbara Decker). The other school that I came up with was on the corner of the Saco Road and the Ulster Road. It was called Riggs School, and the teacher at this school was a Miss Florence Eiffert during the late 1920's (source Eunice Eiffert Nichols, sister of Florence). I would appreciate any further information you may have. Thanks Pat Raymond

Hi listers, Anybody out there know anything about this web site? --- Phil Green's Web Page-- Everitt/Everett Family of Jackson Township Tioga Co., PA I found it on Joyce's site, but, can't bring it up. Any advice? Betty
Will the woman who sent the 1899 Tioga County Directory please contact me. It arrived today. Thanks, Joyce M. Tice
This was posted on www.ebay.com . I have no stake in the sale, but wanted to get this out Bradford Co. researchers. Here is the description. In the search box type in Bradford Co. PA Here you are looking at a very interesting Family Bible presented to William and Dessie(Doane) Eiklor, handwritten and dated 1914. Later handed down to Paul B. Doane, June 1954. Included in this bible is a hand written page explaining how in the year 1800 Daniel Doane arrived in Windham Twp., Bradford Co. which at that time was just a wilderness with only one or two settlers. It goes on to tell about the relatives who owned and worked the Doane Farm. The farm was considered one of the best farms in the township. Does this farm exist today? Bible also contains handwritten Holy Matrimony page of this couples marriage, other family marriages, births, and very detailed Death page. As like most older Family Bibles this one contains several loose articles such as 5 newspaper clippings mentioning Doane relatives and also a Birth Registration for Paul Doane Benjamin, dated Jan. 4, 1925 naming Claude Earl Benjamin as father and Dessie I. Doane as mother.(Born in Windham Twp. Bradford Co., Pa.)Original bible purchase receipt dated 1914. An original Certificate of Marriage uniting Nathan Caitlin(?) and Dessie Benjamin on July 2, 1935. There are several references to the Benjamin name in this book but I am not quite sure of the family connection. This large , brown cloth Bible cover is in delicate condition. Front of cover is almost completely detached. Inside pages of Bible seem solid and still very intact to binding. Only very slight page foxing and slight water/dampness marks to bottom of some pages. Contains numerous full page black & white biblical scene pictures. On the whole for an 88 year old Bible this book has survived very well!!! This makes one nice piece of Windham Twp. Bradford Co. Pa. history.
The motel that Sue asked about was the Breezy View. The main house is still there, the lot too overgrown to see if the cabins are standing. It was located on the west side of Rt. 409, near US 6. It used to be on the "old" road (replaced in 1962/63) They also had a restaurant at the time. My first job was as a waitress there. Cheers, Alice
I am unable to determine some of the family relationships in the Haven Family Cemetery in Columbia Township. Is anyone researching anyone buried in the cemetery? If so, could you please contact me. J. Kelsey Jones [email protected]
This may not have anything to do with Bradford County, but maybe there are some other descendants running around who can help me out. I need info from Perrin, John and Otis to join the Mayflower Society and I'm wondering where to get it, to authenticate things. John Ross (Lt Perrin Ross, Jeremiah Ross, Joseph Russ, John, John, Thomas, Thomas, Thomas, Reingolde Russ) was born 1776 in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, and died April 10, 1855. She was born 1788 in Terrytown, Pennsylvania, and died September 29, 1851. More About John Ross: Burial: Snyder cemetery Notes for Debra Terry: Married first to Stephen Turner of Terrytown. HI everyone: This is enough of this hoax business. Jdbgmgr.exe is a legitimate file and belongs in windows. Leave it alone and lets get on with our genealogy. Up in Big Flats, on the side of the road, across from the Strates Farm, was a marker that said something about a demarkation line - or Mass. border; anyone know about this. I was only ten or twelve when I saw it and it haunts my memory. Bill Stiles Charlotte, NC
