Friends Surprise Newry Woman on 60th Birthday While busy at her work Wednesday night, Mrs. F. F. Holland was very much surprised to find that a host of friends had gathered at her home to help celebrate her sixtieth birthday. After a pleasant evening was spent by all a delicious luncheon was served to the following guests: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holland and daughter Aldine; Mr. and Mrs. William Shade and daughter, Helen; Mrs. T. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Diehl was visiting relatives in Altoona, Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Burk, announce the birth of a son at their home Wednesday. Mrs. Burk before her marriage was Madeline Beyers, Hollidaysburg. This is the first child in the family. Both mother and son are getting along fine. Mrs. Miles Shaw visited her daughter, Mrs. Nettie Wilt, at Duncansville. -------------------------- Boy Struck By Auto Robert Deal, 13, of 1912 Twelfth street, was admitted to the Altoona hospital about 6:30 p. m. yesterday for injuries suffered when struck by an automobile operated by F. J. Davis, 2401 Tenth street. Davis in his report of the accident filed at traffic headquarters said that the victim stepped into the path of his machine and was struck by the front bumper. He was hurled about 5 feet. Davis removed him to the institution in his machine. ------------------------- Mr. and Mrs. Howard M.
