    2. LAKEMONT Misses Evelyn and Betty Obernour of Martinsburg were guests Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. McGinley of First avenue. Miss Mary Mellott, who underwent an operation at the Mercy hospital, has recovered and returned to the home of her sister, Mrs. Fisher of North Pine street. Marjorie Brenner, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brenner of First avenue, has been very ill for a week with pneumonia. Mrs. Lena Lindemer of Altoona spent a few days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Gesser of First avenue. Frederick Redfield of Florida, a former resident of Lakemont, has been circulating among friends here. Mrs. Sadie McTigue and son Junior, have returned to their home in Philadelphia after visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William McTigue and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bottenfield. Miss Harriett Mellott, a trained nurse of Pittsburgh, is visiting at the home of her brother-in-law and sister Mr. and Mrs. John Fisher of North Pine street. Mr. and Mrs. Alva Newton of Akron, O., Mrs. George Crawford and daughter Catherine of Altoona, and granddaughter Mary Ellen Crawford of Johnstown spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Newton of Baynton avenue. Miss Katherine Tomlinson of First avenue is spending a week at the home of her mother Mrs. Ira Walters of Front street. Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Gesser of First avenue were Misses Thelma and Sylvia Lindemer of Altoona and Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Fickes and daughter Virginia of South Altoona. Mr. and Mrs. David Hazlett and Charles Helsel of Portage, Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Snoberger, Mrs. G. W. Hazlett and Miss Erma Hazlett of Blue Knob were all Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hazlett of Baynton avenue. Dr. and Mrs. Strittmatter of Philadelphia were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Flick of Lotz avenue. George M. Gesser of Lotz avenue has been on the sick list the last week. ------------------------------ OSTERBURG Mrs. Gilda Stuft and son and daughter of Ridgely, Md., are visiting relatives in this community. Mrs. Florence Riddle and grandson Billy of St. Augustine, Fla., returned to Mrs. Riddle's home here after spending the winter with her son David. Rev. and Mrs. S. U. Waugaman left Wednesday for Boston, where they will spend a two weeks vacation with their son. Miss Wilma Smith of Bedford spent the week-end here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Smith and daughter Wanda Jean, Misses Nellie Oster and Wilma Smith and Harry Lehrites spent Sunday afternoon at Red Wells. David Henderson and Levi Roudabush are ill at their homes here. Miss Lorma Querry of Claysburg spent the week-end with Miss Helen Shaffer. Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Crissey spent Sunday with friends in Altoona. Mrs. Nannie Triplett of Bedford has been visiting her brother the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Smeltzer of Cresson were Thursday morning callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. Barley Whetstone. Mrs. Ella Ehredt of Altoona spent Thursday at the home of her father John H. Moses and sisters Misses Salinda and Anna Moses. Mrs. Mary Miller of Rainsburg spent Friday here with her daughter Mrs. Rudy Crissey. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Jones and daughters Gladys and Jean of Hagerstown, Md., spent the week-end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Kauffman. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gates and son of Altoona were callers in the section on Sunday. Miss Alice Kauffman, a graduate nurse of Pennsylvania university, is visiting her sister Mrs. Charles Shaffer. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Kauffman and daughter Catherine of Claysburg spent the week-end at the home of the former's parents Mr.a Mrs. Shannon Kauffman. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Croyle and daughters Louise and Elizabeth spent Sunday with Mrs. Croyle's brother and sister Glen and Blanch Kerr of Manns Choice. Mr. and Mrs. C. W.
