Hello Fellow Listers, I was wondering if someone could steer me in the right direction concerning an obit for Herbert A. WEIDEL, who was my fraternal grandfather. He died of a skull fracture on November 9th, 1944 and was buried in Fairview Cemetery on November 13, 1944 by the Axe Funeral Home. His death was considered a probable homicide taking place at Lexington and 4th Street in Altoona on September 23. I would like to find the newspaper articles regarding this accident or the obit for him. My question is does the Altoona Mirror or Tribune newspapers have their archives online? Or does anyone have any ideas how else I could find the newspaper articles/obit without traveling to Pennsylvania, since I live out of state? I would appreciate any suggestions or help, Thank you in advance, Sandie Pratt
