Ickes owes his escape from serious injury yesterday to his ability to "duck" as the officer assisted Patrolmen Dean and Layton in arresting and escorting an unruly trio to City hall from an abode in the Tenth ward. The sergeant and patrolmen were called to Seventh avenue and Third street to quell some trouble. As the celebrants noticed the approach of the officers all retreated to the confines of the home of Mrs. Edith Doak. Sergeant Ickes hastily swore out a John Doe warrant and entered the home, using a skeleton key to unlock the door. Ickes no sooner stepped on the threshold of the home when he saw an iron griddle coming his way. He dodged out of the way and the griddle halted on the wall nearby. Officers then proceeded to gather in the prisoners, including Frank Moran, Flem Trout and Mrs. Doak. Enroute to City hall Moran got scrappy and made the ride prostrate on the floor of the police patrol with Patrolman Dean riding astride the prisoner. The officer's trousers were ruined in the scuffle. At City hall Moran broke the five-gallon water bottle. ---------------- Juniata Gap The Logan township teachers institute met on Saturday in the Baker building, Superintendent John H.
