There was an Allegheny City, but it was not in Blair Co. It was in Allegheny County. It is what is now called the North Side in Pittsburgh. It is directly across the Allegheny River from downtown Pittsburgh. Where the sports stadiums are located now is what used to be called Allegheny City. ----- Original Message ----- From: Morris LeFever <habitat@eoni.com> To: <PABLAIR-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, April 16, 2003 5:30 PM Subject: [PABLAIR-L] Allegheny City 1808 > Was there a place in what may have been Huntingdon County PA in 1808 and now > possibly Blair Co. called ALLEGHENY CITY?
