    3. Those Tyrone Daily Herald obits Sharon's contributing are here http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/pa/blair/obits.htm And for anybody who doesn't know or who has forgotten, the current ones are at http://www.tyronepa.com/herald/ The Altoona Mirror is here http://altoonamirror.com/index.asp And the Tribune Democrat also has Blair county obits. They're here http://www.tribune-democrat.com/ The Altoona Library has a wonderful index to the Altoona Mirror obits here http://www.altoonalibrary.org/obit/default.htm I've never been able to decide whether I like obits or wills best. Both usually give you the names of parents, children and relatives, and whoever made that earlier comment about finding cousins through them is right on the money. I recently found a Rogers cousin I didn't even know I had, when I found an obit online, and it turns out she lives four miles from me. <GRIN> Annie: go for the external floppy drive that plugs into your USB port, rather than buying an older computer. Switching from one computer to another is a royal pain, and the older ones have a nasty habit of dying in the middle of a big project. Head for Best Buy when you get over your fall off the porch. Judy Banja Blair County PA USGenWeb Archives http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/pa/blair/ ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, August 15, 2007 3:13 PM Subject: PABlair Altoona Obits When the Altoona Mirror went online, I contacted Neil Rudel. and he would not give me permission to put their obits put into pagen archives. I explained to him that it's all done on a voluntary basis, and anybody can do lookups for free His answer was NO. I've never contacted this pablair site before, but I read where one gentleman asked where the obits were. Maybe he was referring to other obits. By the way, Tyrone Daily Herald does allow use of their obits. Thanks for listening. Sharon Miller
