Hello List, Recently there was a posting about the BCGS: "I haven't had the pleasure of working with the BCGS yet, I'm trying to decide how to write my request, but it is my understanding they are volunteers and if like any typical nonprofit probably overworked. For those of us the live out of the area we need to rely sometimes on the goodness of others to do our research. I would wish they would have more information available on the web though." I am out of state and have had a volunteer from the BCGS help me quite a bit in the past, so give it a try. I was very happy with the research he did for me via email and snail mail. But, it was quite expensive for the time and copies. I also agree that we need people in the area to help out with research. I volunteer to get obits and naturalization papers for anyone in my NY county. We all need to help each other to keep costs down. Also, local knowledge is a GREAT thing!
