I'm replying to the email message from Michele Pierson. I just joined the PABlair website hoping to read about people searching for ancestors and history and I have been extremely disappointed in the amount of emails that there are being exchanged. I am not a professional researcher but am extremely interested in finding more information on some of my ancestors from the Blair County area. I have exhausted the information that I could gather from Ancestry.com and was hoping that PABlair would be the answer to my research. I have found my Great Great Grandparents, William and Margaret McKinney in the 1850 census, but have been unable to find what happened to most of their children (other than Henry). I am also searching for the birth parents of Charles Ager who was born about 1887, but I know for a fact that his mother's name was Sara/Sarah Neff. I do not know if this was a married name or a given name. I do know that at age 13, Charles Ager took the name of his stepfather, Henry McKinney (my Great Grandfather). These people lived in Blair County and were usually found in the Antis Township area. I have been told that Charles Ager (my grandfather) was born in Bellwood, PA. Is there anyone out there that can direct me as to where I can find marriage records or additional information on my ancestors? What happened to kill off the exchange of info here? It now seems the Centre Co. board (thank you, Justin Kirk Houser!) is the most active list remaining of those I subscribe to, and I rarely get mail from the Blair list at all anymore. For those of us who live out of state, it has been a major blow to lose this flow of info, especially those obits we'd all come to expect in our mailboxes on a daily basis. I, for one, miss Annie Whiteman's helpfulness and generosity in posting them daily for those of us still trying to break down the brick walls our ancestors built around themselves. > > Michele Gibson Pierson > > still researching Gibson, Weir, Calhoun, Frederick, as well as many side branches > > ________________________________________ > PeoplePC Online > A better way to Internet > http://www.peoplepc.com > > > > ----------------------------------- > No flaming permtted on this list.
