APPOINTMENT BY THE GOVERNOR.-- John Simpson to be Coroner of Huntingdon county. This office we believe has been actually vacant for three years, neither Mr. McCahen, nor Mr. Hudson having taken out their commissions. What a strange thing, that such an office should thus go begging. --------------------- COMMITTED.--We learn that Mr. Shaver, Sheriff of this County, has been committed to prison in pursuance of the sentence of the Court, for a violation of the Election Law. ---------------------------------------------- To the Honorable the Judges of the Court of Quarter sessions of Huntingdon county. The petition of DAVID H. MOORE, of the Borough of Hollidaysburg, respectfully represents that he has for several years past kept that well established Tavern Stand, on the corner of Montgomery and Juniata streets, known by the name Exchange Hotel, that he is well provided with house room and conveniences for the lodging and accommodation of travelers and strangers. He therefore prays the Honorable court to grant him a Licence for keeping a public house, and will pray. &c. DAVID H. MOORE WE the subscribers, citizens of Hollidaysburg, in which the above mentioned Inn is intended to be kept, do certify, that DAVID H. MOORE, the above applicant, is of good repute for honesty and temperance, and is well provided with house room and conveniences for the lodging and accommodation of strangers and travelers. E.
