    2. Marriage Record Malone-Cuetara John C. Malone, of Altoona, and Miss Anna A. Cuetara, of Clearfield, were quietly married at Clearfield, August 4, 1902, by Rev. Father Finnesey. While the marriage of these young people was expected by their friends in Clearfield and Altoona, the event came as a surprise. The groom is a native of Altoona, but is now secretary of the Illinois Steel company, and resides in Chicago. He was employed in the office of frank Fielding, esq., of Clearfield, a couple of years ago. They will make their home in Chicago. Beard-Weyant. On August 24, 1902, by Esquire Joseph Gordon, at his office in Lincoln township, Bedford county, Herbert Beard and Daisy Irene Weyant, both of Altoona, were married. --------------------- Williamsburg Mr. John Smith, Mrs. Winter and daughter, Mr. Robert Norris and wife and Mr. John Claar were in attendance of the Donnelly family reunion, held at Fox Run Station, on August 28. The Misses Wilkinson, of Altoona, are pleasant visitors at the home of D. T. Ketring. Miss Snavley, who has been visiting the home of Rev. Snavley and family, left for her home in Virginia after a very pleasant time spent here. Miss Lilly Miller and Miss Daisy Kuhn were pleasant visitors at the home of Jas. Riley a few days ago. Mr. Lewis Sparr has returned home from a very pleasant trip to the south. He says the railroads in the south are not like the Pennsy. At Knoxville he waited nine hours to catch a train for Chattanooga, on account of the railroad company not being able to furnish cars. Miss Amanda Smith has returned from visiting Altoona friends. Mr. Ed McFeathers of Johnstown, was a recent visitor at the home of Jas. Riley. Mr. Beegle, wife and son, of Pittsburg, and Miss Jenny Beegle, of Spruce Creek, were recent visitors at the home of Mr. Robert Fry. The dry weather is affecting the corn crop. It is dryer now than at any time this summer and the dust is terrible in our town. Miss Mullen, who has been a very pleasant guest at the home of Mr. Geo. Ross, has left for her home at McKee, Pa. Dr. J. Earnest and wife have returned home from the seashore. Miss Mary Patterson is on a trip to visit friends in Alexandria, Pa. A new meat market will be opened up in the Spencer block by Mr. J. T. O'Brien, of Hopewell, Pa. William Estep and family entertained at his home on Railroad street a few days ago several friends, who have been here on account of the reunion of the Estep family of Point View a few days ago. Some of our town people attended the citizens picnic at Alexandria on August 27. Two special trains were run from Huntingdon. Several cars of fertilizer are being unloaded at the local station and the town is full of farmers, who are hustling it home for fall use. Mr. John Hicks is on a trip to Altoona and other points in Blair county. Wm. Fay is going to sell out his grocery store. He has secured a position in Pittsburg. A number of new houses are to be built at Franklin Forge by the new quarry company there-the American Crucible company. Peaches were sold on the street here at 75 cents per basket this week. The peaches come from Mines, where a large peach orchard is located. They have a very large crop this year. Mr. William Spencer, of Philadelphia, is here on business a few days. A dancing class will be organized next Monday night in Thompson's hall here, and anyone desiring to learn can do so at a reasonable price. Miss Ada Stone has returned home from a visit to her brother in Homestead. Mr. Julius Blackburn is here on his vacation. Julius is from the Smoky city. Luther Ketring is on a visit to friends in Altoona. He expect to go on the road as a salesman soon. Miss Florence Ake, who was visiting at the home of her uncle, R. S. Fluke, has returned to her home in Philadelphia. On account of the scarcity of cars, no work was done in the quarries around here on Friday. The Enterprise Supply company is selling as fine celery as one could wish to see or eat. It is shipped direct from the celery fields at Suedeker's Pa., near Harrisburg.
