The Accident Record Wilbert C. Hostler, aged 37, of 123 Cherry avenue, was treated at the Altoona hospital yesterday afternoon for lacerations of the left eye sustained while at work on the steel shops. Other cases were: Walter Brown, aged 13, of Greenwood, fracture of left arm; James Atkinson, aged 28, of 214 Maple avenue, lacerations of forehead; Walter Condrin, aged 29, 1313 Seventh street, lacerations of right foot; Harry E. Simpson, aged 36, of 401 East Walton avenue; fracture of right lower jaw, sustained in fall against metal tie, and Mrs. Ruth Shaup, aged 22, of 1507 Fourth street, fracture of right foot, sustained in a fall down a flight of steps --------------------------- Aldermanic News S. A. Solt, charged with failing to pay a board bill, claimed by a Juniata man, settled the case yesterday before Alderman John C. Gorsuch. Alderman T. D. Crawford discharged Nick Bozkes yesterday on the charge of assault and battery on William Love. Love failed to identify the defendant. C. E. Zaring will be given a hearing before Alderman Isenberg of the Seventh ward this afternoon charged with false pretense. Harry Suders made the information. James Ougoulian was accorded a hearing yesterday afternoon before Alderman John C. Gorsuch on the charge of larceny by bailee brought by a local woman. He was discharged. Carl Richards will be given a hearing Wednesday on the charge of defrauding Mrs. T. C. Kough out of a board bill of $5.50. The case will up before Alderman Isenberg of the Seventh ward. ----------------------------------- Altoona Hospital Cases Ralph Meckley, aged 7, of Juniata gap, underwent an X-ray operation at the Altoona hospital this morning following an injury to the right arm sustained when he fell on the school steps. The X-ray disclosed a fracture of the arm at the elbow. Carmen Furio, aged 33, of 1721 Margaret avenue, was treated at the Altoona hospital for a fracture of the eleventh rib on the right side. The fracture was located through an X-ray. Elmer Shoenfelt of 3006 Walnut avenue, submitted to an X-ray following an injury to the left ankle. No fracture was found. Charles Harber, aged 34, of 1531 Eighteenth street, employed in the No. 2 erecting shop, sustained a possible fracture of the right foot this morning when a side rod of an engine fell on the foot. He was treated at the dispensary. George M. Norris, aged 38, of 208 Maple avenue, a car inspector, was treated for an injury suffered when a shaft fell on the worker. ----------------------------- Claim Is Disallowed A disallowance has be allowed in the compensation claim filed before Referee Jacob Snyder in the case of Mrs. Mary Romanko of Johnstown vs. the Cambria Steel company of Johnstown. Hearings were held on June 25 and a continuance on Oct. 22, the petitioner asking for compensation for the death of her husband, an employee of the Cambria company. At both hearings it was found that death was due by natural causes and not through any accident suffered from employment. ------------------------ Hunters Have Fair Luck Food Administrator S. S. Reighard and party, including attorney J. Banks Kurtz, Attorney Charles M. Kurtz and Russell Kurtz have returned home from a two day hunting trip to Mifflin and Huntingdon counties, the gunners bagging thirty-two grey squirrels. Charles H. McVey, real estate agent, W. L. Longenecker, East side grocer, and Attorney R. A. Henderson, returned home with thirty grey squirrels, bagged in Mifflin county during the first two days of season. ------------------- Soldier Dies At Camp David Victor Johnson of Houtzdale and a brother of Mrs. Edgar H. Ritter, of this city, died at Ft. Thomas, Ky., on Oct. 10 of pneumonia. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Johnson of Houtzdale and was born there on May 16, 1895. He is survived by his parents, a sister in this city, a brother Charles in France, and four sisters and two brothers at home. The funeral will be held at the home in Houtzdale tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Ritter will attend the funeral.
