Juniata Mrs. Samuel Gray, of Tyrone, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Bert Loucks, of 523 Eighth avenue, for several weeks, has returned to her home. Mrs. Samuel Goodman, of 621 Sixth avenue, spent Wednesday with her sister, Miss N. F. Arble, of Pittsburg. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Young, of 717 Seventh avenue, recently entertained Mrs. Samuel Wells, of Elk Lick, Somerset county and Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Wells, of Tyrone. -------------------- Condition Is Critical The condition of Special Officer Warren Hauser, who is in the Altoona hospital, suffering from blood-poisoning and pneumonia, is very critical. He passed a very bad night and is no better this afternoon, there being little hope of his recovery. --------------------- Local Police News Offended because his wife would not accompany him to church, William E. Young is alleged to have gotten drunk and raised some trouble at the home. Mayor Walker last evening gave him 72 hours in the city prison, but later relented and told him to go home to his family. While E. E. Jackson was being given a hearing yesterday afternoon before Alderman Crawford, charged by J. B. Miller with keeping a vicious dog, P. J. Fagan, a spectator at the hearing, recognized the dog, when it brought into the office, as one that had attacked him a few days ago. Other's testified to the dog's bad disposition and the Alderman ordered Jackson to do away with the animal and pay the costs. John Johnson, a young Italian, failed to appear at a hearing in police court last evening to answer to the charge of carrying a concealed weapon and forfeited the security to the amount of $10.80 as a fine. Samuel H. Knode of Allensville, Pa. was arrested last evening by Special Officer Warren house, charged with the larceny of a sweater from the home of Mrs. J. H. Moreland, of 1121 Eighth avenue. Knode was given a hearing before Alderman Shuff and held in $300 bail for court.
