A Mr. Nearhoof, who was pitching the oats onto the wagon, was also stunned. While thus engaged, one of the party noticed two huge rattlesnakes snugly coiled up on a board and notified Mr. Seguin. Sharpe & Co., butchers, Eleventh avenue, while investigating a sausage cutter Friday, had his right knee caught in the machine and very painfully bruised. Our merchants and others should be on the lookout for a young man who is canvassing the city selling a plating for show cases. The article is inferior and will not stand the test, as an Eleventh avenue merchant is welling to testify, having been taken in Friday. The Taylor manufacturing company, of Chambersburg, is building two 125-horse power engines, one 80-horse power engine and three boilers for the electric light plant of this city. The bricklayers are at work on the building on Tenth avenue. A force of men are engaged at work excavating for the stonework of the Seventh street bridge. A large derrick has been erected by which means the dirt is raised to the street and then hauled back to help fill in the approaches. The work will be rapidly pushed forward. We take pleasure in called the attention of the trade to the card appearing in our paper to-day of "M. Oppenheimer & Co., this being the largest and oldest, as well as the only house in Pittsburgh, who manufacture an entire line of clothing and keep a full line of woolens and tailor trimmings for the merchant tailor trade.
