    2. Hollidaysburg Messers. J. Luden Henry, John O'Neill and Edward S. Ritter, viewers appointed by the court to lay out a road, connecting the old Hollidaysburg turnpike with the Lakemont road held a special meeting on Saturday last, in regard to same. They decided that the new road should begin on the Hollidaysburg turnpike at a point where Good's land enters it from Eldorado, then along the line between the Lane and Campbell's farms, to the Lakemont road, entering it near the residence of Mr. James Fasic, just south of Lakemont. This improvement will be a great convenience to drivers who desire to reach Lakemont park and other points in that vicinity, inasmuch as the long drive around the old plank road crossing south of Llyswen can be eliminated. At the regular monthly meeting of the Hollidaysburg school board held last evening the truant officer reported having found twenty-eight cases of truancy during the past month. Superintendent L. A. Marsh reported that 322 boys and 283 girls, or a sum total of 605 pupils were attending the schools. The average attendance is 437, and the percentage of attendance is 94. The board of directors signified a desire to contribute to the success of the Lincoln centenary meeting to be held on Friday evening, and the public school teachers and pupils will take an active part in the program. A special meeting for men only will be held on Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the Methodist Episcopal church of this place. A men's chorus of twenty-four voices will lead the singing. Mr. C. A. Lucas, a worker in the Altoona Young Men's Christian association will address the meeting. The revival services which are being held each evening this week are largely attended and most interesting. Up to this time nineteen persons have signified their desire to become Christians. The public is cordially invited to attend.
