ARGUMENT COURT A large number of criminal cases was acted upon at yesterday's session of argument court. John Boist, charged with deserting his wife, was sentenced to pay her a monthly maintenance of $20. He was also required to furnish $400 for faithful compliance of this sentence. Rossio Serrito, an Italian laborer, charged with flourishing a knife and uttering threats against Joseph Morello, king of the Italian colony, was sent to jail in default of $100 bail for his good behavior. Howard M. Green, threats, was required to give bail to keep the peace. The case of against Andrew Doreen, desertion and maintenance, was continued. The same charge against A. C. Hicks was continued. Joseph Gibson, jr., of Duncansville, was up for uttering threats against a Mrs. Gildea. Joseph paid the costs and gave $100 bail. Luther Tomlinson, desertion; case continued. Albert Showalter was directed to pay his wife $5 a month for maintenance. P. J. Fagan, charge with false pretense, gave bail for his appearance at the March sessions. An attachment under the fraudulent debtor's act of 1869 was issued in the suit of J. B. Lippincott & Co., vs. H. G. DeSylvia. Plaintiffs allege that the preferred judgment is fraudulent and the H. B. Huff had never accepted the trust in deed of assignment. W. L. Pennock vs. The City of Altoona: motion for new trial; case continued. City of Altoona vs. John McNevin: reserved points: continued on account of notes of testimony not having been filed. Anthony Detwiler, defendant in a prosecution for fornication and bastardy, was delivered into the custody of the sheriff. Mr. Detwiler had applied for his discharge under the insolvent laws. It appeared at the hearing that he had conveyed his property with intent to defraud his creditors. The assignee of the Tyrone bank was directed to dispose of the remaining assets within the next four months. A subpoena was granted in the divorce case of Grant Moreland vs. Katie Moreland. Complainant claims he was led into this marriage by false and fraudulent misrepresentations made by his wife. A motion was made for a new trial in the case of Ellen McHale vs. The City of Altoona. The stenographer was directed to transcribe the testimony and charge of the court. A subpoena was granted in the divorce case of Jeanette Ickes vs. Sheridan Ickes. Complainant charges her husband with desertion. Samuel E. Dull was granted leave to sue the Altoona, Clearfield & Northern railroad company, until the first day of next term. The attachment proceedings against Albert Forsht, supervisor of Logan township, were suspended until the first day of March term.
