DEVIL'S FOOD 1 cup brown sugar 1 cup white sugar 1/2 cup butter 2 eggs 1/2 cup cocoa 1 tablespoon vanilla 2 cups flour 1/2 cup sour milk 1 cup hot water 1 teaspoon soda Cream the butter; add the sugar and cream together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and beat well. Mix and sift the dry ingredients excepting soda, which is dissolved in the hot water. Add the wet and dry ingredients alternately to the first mixture. Flavor.
