Hello Listers, I found a William Carothers in Antis Twp. in 1860, wife Anna Maria. Children: Joseph 11 Jacob 9 Margaret 7 Robert 4 Elmira 3 Jackson 8.12 I found another William in 1870 with other children and one of those children are Thaddeus about 5 yrs. old. The age of the William matches the age of the William in 1860. In 1880 Thaddeus disappears and doesn't show up again until 1900 married to Lottie. I have used soundex as the name is spelled different in all the census records. I even checked in other states. I know Thaddeus's father was William and his mother was Anna Maria. I'm thinking Anna Maria may have died between 1866 and 1870 and is buried in Bellwood. Any help on where I could check next would be greatly appreciated.
