    2. The reservoir of the Altoona Gas and Water Company is now being raised three feet higher. Not sentenced. Com. vs. Geo. Hoffman--Indictment--Assault and Battery. True bill. Guilty. Sentenced to pay a fine of $5 and costs of prosecution. Com. vs. John Hainsey and Henry Miller--Indictment--Assault and battery. True bill. Not guilty, but pay costs. Com. vs. Geo. Pearce--Indictment--Assault and battery. True bill. Submitted. Sentenced to pay costs of prosecution and undergo an imprisonment in the county jail for one month. Com. vs. Michael Scandling--Indictment--Selling liquor on Sunday. True bill. Guilty. Com. vs. J. C. Shoemaker--Indictment--Selling liquor on Sunday. Not a true bill, and county pay costs of prosecution. Com. vs. Catharine Mash--Indictment--Assault and battery. True bill. Guilty. Not sentenced. Com. vs. Michael Schandling--Selling intoxicating drinks to minors. True bill. Guilty. Not sentenced. Com. vs. Dennis Creely--Surety of Peace. After a hearing of the case he was sentenced to pay $1 to the county and entered into recognizance in $500 to keep the peace. Com. vs. Jacob Andrews--Indictment--Assault and battery. Not a true bill, and Geo. Tompkins, the prosecutor, to pay costs. Com. vs. Andrew Stanberry--Indictment--Assault and battery. Not a true bill, and Thos. Stanberry to pay costs. Com. vs. Clemens Fichtor--Indictment--Forgery. True bill. Continued. Com. vs. Fanny Reynolds--Indictment--Selling liquor on Sunday. True bill. Guilty. Com. vs. Fanny Reynolds--Indictment--Furnishing intoxicating drink to men of intemperate habits. True bill. Guilty. Com. vs. Fanny Reynolds--Indictment--Keeping a tippling house. True bill. Guilty. Com. vs. Elias Baker and Wm. Johnston--Indictment--Assault and battery. True bill. Wm. Johnston not guilty, but pay half the costs, and Jacob Good, the prosecutor, the other half. Elias Baker sentenced to pay a fine of six cents, and the costs. Com. vs. Cyrus Hamilton--Indictment--Threatening letters. Not a true bill, and Jacob T. Wilson, the prosecutor to pay costs. Several cases of surety of peace were submitted to the Court, and one or two fornication and bastardy cases continued.
