I never met Annie, but I had a wonderful e-mail relationship with her, over the past six years or so. She was helpful, witty and a plain old pleasure to know. She did, indeed, go beyond the call of duty when it came to helping Blair researchers. My all-time great brick wall was in Blair County and Annie took a real interest in the tantalizing clues and discoveries I would tell her about. Her help contributed so much to knocking down the wall that it almost seemed it was one of her relatives I was seeking. Annie may be replaced, but she will never be duplicated. I miss her already.
