This holiday season, I found myself reflecting on how many Christmas cards arrived in my mailbox from my genealogy friends throughout the U.S. and even one from Europe. And I also enjoyed finding warm e-mail greetings in my inbox from distant cousin/researchers I had worked with but hadn't talked to for awhile. It amazed me how in the genealogy world, our sense of caring and love for family extends far beyond our immediate relatives. And now with Annie's passing, I'm once again astounded by the loving bonds her simple and kind gestures created. Annie sent me many wonderful pieces of information, and every time I saw a post from her I couldn't wait to read it, either because I knew it would offer an intriguing or nostalgic glimpse into history, or a glimpse into Annie's world! I'd often tell my sister about the funny Annie lady in Blair County, and we would laugh about her antics! Thanks to Annie's family for sharing her with all of us! You have my deepest sympathies.
