BONSELL Mr. Bonsell, 73, of Spruce Creek died at 4:35 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 1988, at Irondale, Ohio, after an extended illness. Known as Bill, Mr. Bonsell retired as a engineman from the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1976. He was born Dec. 21, 1914 in Spruce Creek, the son of Joseph P. & Effie Mae (Chilcote) Bonsell, and Sept. 10, 1938, married Clara M. Gill, who died Sept. 15, 1980. Surviving are a daughter, Frances Ann Oxnard of Irondale, in whose home he died, and four grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother and sister: Norman of Lewisbury and Dorothy Anderson-Woodring of York. Mr. Bonsell was a member of Lower Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Lower Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church. He was a member of William P. Spyker American Legion of Alexandria, VFW of Tyrone, Masonic Lodge of Tyrone and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen. Mr. Bonsell was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a tech sergeant in France, and Germany, from 1942 to 1945. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Robert I. Grove Funeral Home, Alexandria. BONSELL-Services for Gerald W. Bonsell of Irondale, Ohio, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Robert I. Grove Funeral Home, Alexandria, by the Rev. Samuel T. Lewis III. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lower Spruce Creek Presybyterian Church, Spruce Creek. A granddaughter, Denise Lane Oxnard, four brothers and five sisters preceded him in death.
