Altoona Mirror 08/04/2001 Catherine M. Doyle Mrs. Catherine M. Doyle, 81, 4315 Chainbridge Road, Fairfax, Va., formerly of Altoona, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001. She was born March 3, 1920, in Hastings, a daughter of the late Louis and Margaret (Ebbs) Gill. She married Wayne A. Doyle on Oct. 24, 1942. He preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1984. She was a former member of Salem Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included gardening. Surviving are two children: a daughter, Margaret L. Cross of Springfield, Va., and a son, Wayne A. Doyle II of Sheridan, Wyo.; two grandsons: William W. Cross of Roanoke, Va., and Brian Doyle Cross of Springfield, VA; two sisters: Margaret H. Gill of Philipsburg and Lenora Miller of Spruce Creek; and a nephew, Mahlon "Bud" Leppard of Antis Township. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Denise Arpino officiating. Interment at Asbury Cemetery. Altoona Mirror 1/01/1984 WAYNE A. DOYLE SR. Mr. Doyle, 68, of 414 Main St., Bellwood, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 1984, in the VA Hospital, Pittsburgh. Mr. Doyle retired as a maintenance man from Antis Township in 1976. He was born April 30, 1916 in Riggles Gap, the son of William M. and Ina K. (Riggle) Doyle, and Oct. 24, 1942, in Altoona, married Catherine M. Gill. Surviving are his wife, two children: Wayne A. Jr. of Norfolk, Va., and Margaret L. Cross of Arlington, Va., and two grandsons. Also surviving is a sister, Helen Snyder of R.D. 1. Mr. Doyle was an Army veteran of World War Ii. He was a member of the Bellwood VFW. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Gerald D. Johnson Funeral Home, Bellwood. DOYLE - Services for Wayne A. Doyle Sr. of 414 Main St., Bellwood, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Gerald D. Johnson Funeral Home, Bellwood, by the Rev. Norman Waite. Interment in Asbury Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
