How can Annie be gone from us? Just earlier this week, she made me smile as I thought of how thoughtful she was to post letters from Santa circa 1920's. In a world where consumerism many times overruns the true meaning of this time of year, reading a child's wish for oranges and nuts from 70-years back helped put things back into perspective. I had a list to do as long as my arm and was quickly losing perspective. How did she know I needed to read those? In addition to all of the genealogical help she provided to so many of us, Annie was a friend, the electronic pen pals of recipes, grandson stories, and all sorts of other day-to-day. Her Bombeck-type wit made me chuckle on more than one occasion. There was only one Annie. I can't say anything others haven't already said. But like the rest, I am richer for having known her, even though it was through this electronic medium. For the loved ones Annie leaves behind, please know you are enveloped by the prayers of so many on this list. She was my friend and I admired her goodness so much, as I know so many of you did, too. I am sorry to be the one to tell you this. Let's keep this list active for her memory... Carol C.
