I was so sorry to hear about Annie's death. She has helped me a lot over the years. I looked forward to the obits and the children's Christmas letters to Santa that she sent. Through personal e-mails I found out that her best friend Helen Radel was my cousin. Small world. She will be greatly missed. My sympathy to the family. Maxine

Sometimes we don't realize how many people we touch when we do something nice. I hope Annie is looking down and smiling right now, thanks to all of our tributes. I am not a regular list contributor, but I have surely benefited from my membership because of Annie's help! When Annie posted the Dear Santa letters, I decided to share them with my high school history class since we are studying the twenties era. They really responded to these letters! They were amazed at how these children wanted things the students today take for granted, like an orange or fuel (coal) for heat! And the Pennsylvania children were SO considerate back then--baking cookies and making sure Santa has no obstacles in reaching their houses. We made many comparisons and it was truly a worthwhile activity. I must have been one of the last listers to contact her directly and thank her for providing the Santa letters for all of us. She warmly responded and seemed very proud to have helped out. I will also miss Annie. She has helped me out with both my teaching and my family tree. I hope she's meeting all the ancestors up there!
