Psalm 8:3-9 Mary Naomi Murphy (4/15/1933 - 4/25/2010) M.Naomi Murphy, a Doylestown resident, went home to her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 25, 2010. Naomi was 77. She was the wife of 54 years of Stanley Murphy. Born in Altoona April 15, 1933, Naomi was the daughter of the late William Arthur and Clara Jamesella (Reinhard) Gority. She graduated from Altoona Senior High School, Class of 1951. Naomi had a love for music and sang with the Joyful Singers and with the Doylestown Senior Center Choraliers. She was a member of Grace Gospel Chapel, Plumsteadville and among other things, was active in the Bible study group at church. She retired from PNC Bank 1995 after 30 years of service at Doylestown National, Continental, Midlantic and PNC Bank. Naomi’s enjoyment came from socializing with her many friends in the area through various bus trips to plays, walking with a local walking group and going to various music programs. Her interests included collecting Byer’s Choice Choraliers. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. Naomi was predeceased by a sister, Bessie Mae Geary and a granddaughter, Sadie Murphy. In addition to her husband, Naomi is survived by four children, Suzanne Gority-Wolf of Perkasie, Miriam Anne Plack of Lancaster; Boyd A. (Janice) of Allentown and William (Jeannine) of East Greenville, her grandchildren, Amy L. Marr (Gregory) of S.Grafton, MA, Justin T. Klebes of FL, James S. Plack, Jr. of Lancaster, Joshua P. Plack of Crofton, MD, Timothy S. Plack of Lancaster, Ely Murphy of Levittown, and William Murphy of East Greenville, as well as two great-grandaughters, Ainsley E. and Caitlin E. Marr of S. Grafton, MA. Naomi was a good wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service at 11 a.m., Friday, April 30, at Grace Gospel Chapel, 5582 Easton Road (Route 611), Plumsteadville. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 29, and from 9 to 10 a.m., Friday at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown. Interment will be in Doylestown Cemetery.
