    3. Hello List, Can anyone tell me if the PA State Archives lends microfilm of older newspapers or county records? Or, are they available from another source? I am looking for Altoona/Hollidaysburg 1857 newspaper, and any records 1865-1875. I know that other states have interlibrary loan of these items, but can't seem to find out if they are available from PA. Thank you! 3. Tomi, You borrow the newspaper through the interlibrary loan department of your own county library system. Give them this url for the newspaper at the PA State Library in Harrisburg, where your library will request it - http://pilot.passhe.edu:8020/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?BBID=506861 You borrow county records through your local LDS Church Family History Center. The Family History Library catalog can be searched here - http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp Do a Place Search for Blair Pennsylvania. That said, however, remember that the state did not require the counties to keep birth or death records until 1893, and the state did not require the counties to keep marriage records until October 1, 1885. Prior to those dates the source for vital records in PA would be church registers and family bibles. Hope this helps, Judy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tomi Larson" <tomil23@hotmail.com> To: "Blair Rootsweb" <pablair@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, April 29, 2010 8:57 AM Subject: [PABLAIR] PA records on microfilm Hello List, Can anyone tell me if the PA State Archives lends microfilm of older newspapers or county records?
