Listers, I'm new to the Blair list; I'm the first of my family line born outside PA. My first ancestor to touch these shores (that I've found so far) was Nicolaus Adam and wife Juliana Schweikhardt Adam who arrived in 1727 from Germany. Their daughter Christiana Adam wed George Puderbaugh in 1756, their daughter Maria Puderbaugh married Adam Burget in 1785, their son John Puderbaugh Burget wed Catherine Benner in 1809, their daughter Elizabeth Burget married John D. Frederick around 1836-37, their son Henry B. Frederick wed Barbara Clapper between 1870-75, son David Clapper Frederick was born 1891 and wed Grace H. Calhoun around 1915-17. Their daughter Mildred, my Mom, wed Eugene Gibson in 1945 in Michigan. I'm stuck on John D. Frederick's parents, Adam and Sarah Dressler Frederick of Curryville 1810 or so, my dad's great grandfather Abraham Gibson b. around 1820-1835 (Duncansville?), and grandfather William Weir b.1837-8 Scotland who immigrated in 1887, he's found in 1900 census in Blair Co PA with new wife Mary Keiper, 2 daughters, 5 Keiper stepchildren and new baby Ruth. I have a collection of obits, many of them Leaders and Gibsons, that I will begin posting soon. Happy hunting in 2003! Michele Pierson

Happy New Year to all list members! And many thanks for the tireless work of Annie and Steve, which has helped so many of us. I am looking for any information on Henry Buoymaster/Bymaster and his wife, Catherine Conrad. Catherine was born 1824, apparently near the Newry area, and Henry around 1810 or so, but supposedly from the York area. They lived in Blair Co. all their married lives. I have been unable to find evidence of their parents/families prior to their marriage, which was about 1845. I am also looking for cousins - living descendants of Barnabas McDermitt and his wife Catharine Todd, or William Hudson and his wife Esther McGough. These people all originated in Cambria Co., but lived in Altoona, Blair Co., in their later years and died there. Any help is much appreciated, and I am willing to share any information I have.
