Hi Everyone, Hope all had a safe and happy holiday. Also want to thank everyone who have sent info on my Morgan line. Family story was Mary Ann Morgan Laing, my ggrandmother, and her two sisters were the only ones in her family to come to America. For years I had Henry's name from the 1870 Blair Co Altoona census but listed as Charles Morgan. Last year I bought the 1880 Censes Mormon index and started searching for surnames ggrandmother at in her will. I found the Plitt family living with Henry C and Ann living in the same area as 1870. I also found Henry S. who I had in 1870 census. Much to my and my aunt's surprise I started finding other family members. Now I feel the whole family came to America around 1865. I'm now wondering if other Morgan's and Thomas' relatives came to America at this time and settle in Altoona. I feel I've exhausted all my leads on this family so any help is appreciated. The following is their names: Henry C. Morgan/Charles Morgan came to America from Wales around 1865- Henry and Ann settled in Altoona and are buried there Ann Thomas, Henry's wife Henry S. Morgan, Henry's son married Almira C. or S. Appears from the census Almira was a widow when Henry married her. Her 1st husband's surname could be Robbins. Henry S. and Almira are buried in Altoona Mary Ann Morgan married David Laing (my paternal ggrandparents -married in Altoona, lived in Allegheny Co.,and died in Westmoreland Co) Anna Morgan (?) Hannah Morgan married William Reading Elizabeth Morgan married William T. Williams They are buried in Altoona Margaret Morgan married David H. Plitt They are buried in Altoona Lona Laughlin Boudreaux Living in sunny, windy and cold (for us) Houston, Tx lona@pdq.net > Let's start our roll call for the year 2003, and for those of you that don't > like the larger volume of mail, please either be patient, or change your mail > list to digest, that way you can get the listmail once a day. > > Annie Whiteman > PABlair Rootsweb List Administrator > Annie Whiteman/Steve Patz > Blair County Coordinators > http://www.rootsweb.com/~pablair >

Hi, I am wondering a couple of things, first my great great grandparents were naturalized in 1891 in Altoona. I am only able to determine the year which they were naturalized from census records for 1900,1910,1920, and 1930,not where it occured. We all know what assumptions can do to us in our research so I am asking would their papers be on file in Altoona or would they be else where? Also, if they are in Altoona at the courthouse, would someone have the time to go there and look up there papers and obtain a copy or transcribe the information on them for me? I am in dire need of these papers as, I can go no further in my research for them in England without their papers to know where in England they came from or any other pertinent data that would be on these papers. I would gladly pay for any necessary materials or time if need be. Thanks, Tracilyn

Basically I think this list includes most of Blair, Bedford and Huntingdon counties for the last 300 years, but hey, none of my forefathers or foremothers moved out of Pa. in that time, so this must me a great place to live. I am proud to be a part of all these fine folk.
My interests are any descendants of Rees Joshua PROSSER and Eleanor COLLINS, immigrated from Wales to the U.S. in 1862.... And descendants of Arthur William EARDLEY, b. 1844, Congleton, Cheshire; immigrated to the U.S. 1876; d. 1882, Altoona PA; married Crissie WOLFE, b. 1857 in PA and died 1878 in Altoona.
