    1. [PABLAIR-L] Roll Call
    2. Thank God, listers, family and friends, I have learned much in 2002 about lines I have been researching. Unless there is something new or unusual in the HAUPT, HARTZELL, FEGLES, or TRENT lines, I need little help there. BUT, the POTTER line still has many holes and brick walls in it. Jacob MYERS/MEYERS/MEIERS married Elizabeth STEVENS/STEPHENS around 1810 before or after. Their daughter Mary Ann married Robert Potter, my g-g-grandfather. Elizabeth was the daughter of Giles Stevens/Stephens, an American Revolutionary War sargeant. He and his family are well documented but Elizabeth is lost after her marriage. There are many references to Jacob Myers in Blair County records but I have not been able to positively link any to the Stevens/Stephens family. Giles Stevens/Stephens married Nancy TIPTON. Her family has been traced quite far back but I would like to know more about the family when they lived in Blair County. The HAMMEL family is lost to me beyond Martin Hammel who lived in Petersburg and Altoona in the late 1800s. His wife was Sarah WELDON. His daughter-in-law, Dora McKEE. James THOMPSON b.1860, d.1926 was my maternal g-grandfather. I know little about his family behind him. He was born in Bellwood, lived in Altoona but I hear some siblings lived in Cresson or Gallitzin. Many Thanks to Annie for her great untiring work on the Blair County list. 1. [PABLAIR-L] GRAY
    2. Liz Jones
    3. Cindy & List: Perhaps you could help me find the mother & father for 4 GRAY children that I found living with relatives in the 1900 Blair Co. Census. Evidently both parents died??? They are: ---------------------------------------------------------------- In the 1900 Blair Co., PA Census (Juniata Borough, 2nd Avenue) Gray, Florence E. born Jan 1884, niece Gray, Hattie M. born April 1886, niece Gray, Nora M. born July 1888, niece The above 3 girls are living with Daniel and Jennie LAFFERTY, Anna LAFFERTY (mother of Daniel) and James A. TANEYHILL (Father-in-law of Daniel). --------------------------------------------------------------- In the 1900 Census, Blair Co., Logan Twp. Is another GRAY boy living without parents: GRAY, James A., nephew, born Dec. 1883. James is living with Blair MOORE, Clara MOORE, (hus/wife) and their children Ida J. Viola, Charles and Mayora MOORE. --------------------------------------------------------------- Since these GRAY children are listed as nieces and a nephew to the head of households (Daniel Lafferty & Blair Moore) I know that they must be the children of one of the female Lafferty sisters. The only one that I don't know the spouse's name is Emily Lafferty so this could possibly be the mother. Does any of this sound familiar to you or anyone on the list? Genealogy Society has a wonderful large map showing the different cemetery locations in Blair. Also, for more detailed information, keep your fingers crossed that Jennie is at the BCGS the weekend you visit. She knows every cemetery in Blair and most of Bedford and Fulton too. Just yesterday I asked her about a cemetery near Catfish, and she proceeded to tell me all about the cemetery, including the names of the people buried there!! With dates!!
