Does anybody know if or where records were kept on members of the Silver Grey Club or the American Mechanics. I am looking for records on a member of both in the 1870's 1880's. Thanks, Robin

"Houston" asked, " I'm looking for any information on Mathias Brothers, listed on the direct tax for 1798 in Woodberry(bury). Any information would be helpful, his children or parents, Church association or his trade. The 1810 census has listed Matthias Brothers with 3 male children and 6 female children." The church record (on microfilm that Blair Co. has) for the "Logan Valley Salem Lutheren Church" Antis Twp. Huntingdon Co. (now Blair Co.) has some people named Brothers in it. Also, Lefever, Troxel, Smith, Domer, etc. Church started about 1806. Brothers I think were on a list of "Communicants" about 1814. Morris

Dawn, I have Lydia HALFPENNY who married in to my HUNTER line. Her tombstone indicates that she was the daughter of J & M Halfpenny. She is buried in Logan Valley Cemetery in Antis Twp. Her sister Isabel is also buried there. The 1870 census has the following: All born PA Halfpenny, John, 60 Mary Ann, 56 Mary E, 21 Sally, 19 Benjamin, 17 Catharine B, 16 George, 7 Wirtz (could be Mirtz), John, 25 Kotner(?), William, 21 I will be happy to send you a copy of the image if you would like it. I will check and see what else I have also, as I have come across the Halfpenny name frequently since they lived in such close proximity to my Hunter's. I'm looking for any information on Mathias Brothers, listed on the direct tax for 1798 in Woodberry(bury). Any information would be helpful, his children or parents, Church association or his trade. The 1810 census has listed Matthias Brothers with 3 male children and 6 female children. Thanks, Marcia Fronk
Good morning, I'm looking for anyone that might have information on the 1860 census. I'm looking for John Halfpenny. He lived in Centre County until 1853 when he moved to Blair County. He was a woolen manufacturer, and started a company in Blair County when he moved there. I am looking for his children, I have the following information from the 1850 census: John age 41 Mary age 37 Margaret age 13 Lydia age 8 John age 5 Isabella age 3 Mary age 2 But I'm looking for a child named Katherine, I believe she may have been born about 1853/1854. I show that he is in fact on the 1870 census, but I don't have detail, just head of household information. 179B 21 Halfpenny John 60 M W Woollen Manufacturer Thanks in advance!!!! Dawn West

This is interesting, and also, I believe the material Aileen and her co-researcher collected are at the Tyrone Historical Society until the end of November. Click here: tyronepa | Area women working to find genealogy of Sinking Valley http://tyronepa.com/news/article.php?id=2731 Annie Whiteman PABlair Rootsweb List Administrator Annie Whiteman/Steve Patz Blair County Coordinators http://www.rootsweb.com/~pablair
